In late 2014 a few talented software developers approached me with an opportunity. They wanted to establish a new company which would focus on using video game technology for training and simulation instruction in the field of workplace safety and accident prevention. At various times in my career I worked with three of the four individuals. I knew they were capable. More importantly, they were of the highest character. My past few jobs had shown me that character proven in adversity is far more precious and rare than any gold or silver.
Though operating my own Agile coaching firm, Agile Heroes, I decided to allocate a portion of my resources to help establish this fledgling company. I dove in, seeking out any area I could assist. We rapidly created the foundation of the company, setting out the core principles which would guide the operations from then onward. From that basis, I created the website and marketing strategy. I also contributed to the UX design and product development. At present I serve as Chief Operations Officer.
At present we are developing the main product, called Response. This Unity3D based simulation platform is aimed to provide immersive safety training for hazardous workplace environments.
